Below is the proposed agenda for the Heritrix Expert User Forum to be held in San Francisco, February 24th and 25th. Please note: the location of the forum has been changed.

We would love to include demos and/or presentations from those of you who will attend. I've heard from a few of you already, but if you haven't contacted me yet and are interested, please email me off list at kcarpenter@archive.org.

We do need to know if you plan to attend. We have a survey set up here to capture attendee info: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PWGH959

Please let us know no later than February 17th if you plan to attend.

For those of you who have already filled out the survey and requested lodging recommendations, I will be contacting you off list.

Heritrix Expert User Summit

Date: Wednesday, Feb 24th & Thursday, February 25th

Time: 9am - 5:30pm each day

Day One: Weds. Feb 24th

9am - 10am Welcome & Meeting Logistics

Round robin intros and discussion of what each attendee wants to get out of the two day session, revision of the agenda to accommodate goals/objectives of the group

10am - 11am Heritrix v3 (H3) - a detailed presentation and open discussion of H3 architecture and API's

11am - 11:15am Break

11:15-1pm Open Discussion of H3 continues

1pm-2pm Lunch

2pm- 3:30pm Open Discussion: How to contribute to the Heritrix project/ What IA needs to include your code/How to become a committer/Issues you've faced in incorporating your code

3:30pm - 3:45pm Break

3:45-5:30pm Use Case Demos/Discussion #1: Planning for and Executing Focussed/Topic/Site Based Harvests*

  • There are 2 potential demos/presentations from expert users for this session; other demos/presos are welcome!

6:30pm No host dinner - Location TBD

Day Two: Thursday, Feb 25th

9am-11am Use Case Discussion #2: Planning for and Executing Large Scale Crawls (incl splitting crawls between multiple machines)

11:15 - 1pm Use Case Discussion #3: Infrastructure planning, performance, scalability, and automation**
